The Babassu Butter is a fragrant melting butter. It is traditionally used for dry skin. It comes from the kernel of the fruit of the Babassu palm tree which grows in the south-east of the Amazon.

The nut is shelled by women organized in a cooperative. They extract the seeds and cold press them mechanically. An organic butter or oil is obtained. Unlike some palm trees (palm oil), Babassu enriches the soil on which it grows. The cultivation of Babassu is part of a program of fair trade and sustainable development.

The Babassu Butter is a very good moisturizer and anti-oxidant that can be suitable for both dry and oily skin because it nourishes without giving an oily effect. It prevents the skin from drying out and restores suppleness and radiance. At room temperature, it appears as a solid but applied to the skin, it melts immediately on contact with it. Babassu butter leaves the skin soft, moisturized and delicately scented.
